Englands Players, Heroes? Cobblers.

Just watching Luton and Rochdale game. Just before half time heared one of the commentators refer to the England players playing on Saturday as heroes. Either a thoughtless remark, particularly at this time, or an idiot. They may be gifted, talented, skilled, over rated, over paid, but by No stretch of the imagination can they be called heroes. That descriptive word is over used and devalues its true meaning. You don't see centre forwards being shot at while trying to score. Sorry but it made me very angry to hear it .

They are not even heroes in a footballing sense, nearly men, not heroes.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Heroes my arse!  The men who marched out before the Man Utd - Chelsea match kicked off were prime examples of real heroes and represented our fine armed forces; puts football to shame when a young swaddie is earning in a year in what some players earn in half a week!!!
