Signed from Leiston according to their web page, looks like a prolific goalscorer who has been at quite a few clubs, recovering from a double hernia operation, so fitness could be an issue.

lives in Spalding so not far to travel, as said before been injured but has a good scoring record and scored a few this season including an hat trick against Farnborough. One to develop I think as not fully fit.
against league 3, an idiots guide to making the rich richer and the poor poorer.

Let's hope he can shore up the forward line and make a few waves. Must be careful not to let him slip through our fingers if he starts banging them in.

Interesting signing - looks to have the ability. Why no mention on the o/'s though? Blinco has been announced, but not Sands.

Apparently cost a fee.

He's only signed on until the end of the season. If we did pay a fee for him, he could then go in the summer for free, surely would want to get him on signed on for this season and next at least if paid money for him.

Scored 5 in 13 this season, Inc first half hat trick, but never plays 90 minutes. Check out Leiston player profiles, lots of info. Bit nomadic, but not in in drewe broughton class! Couple of u-tube links. Looks a good prospect with an eye for goal. Hopefully he can put a shift in like Jonah has been and knock a few in as well as supporting Dayle. Hopefully we'll get a taste tomorrow!

I can't see it being much more than a few grand. If he earns a conract for next season, I'm sure we can offer him one.

Mildenhall Town - 14 goals in the 2009/2010 season

Cambridge United - Suffered tendonitis in his knee and was not offered a contract during trial period,, then went to Bury

Bury Town - 59 goals in 105 games (upto Oct 2013) Then sold for an undisclosed fee to ...

Canvey Island - 24 gaols in 47 games (upto Nov 2014)

CANVEY’S marquee new striker John Sands (who joined for an undisclosed fee) has been ruled out of action until the new year after being attacked outside a nightclub – just hours after making a dream debut for the island club.
Police are investigating the attack on the 26-year-old in Suffolk on Saturday night which has left him with a broken jaw and needing to eat through a straw.
And Canvey manager Danny Heale says it’s a crushing blow for the club and the player, who’d scored a brace to give the Gulls a 2-1 home win over Hampton earlier that day.

JOHN Sands has left Canvey Island by mutual consent after his contract was cancelled last night.
The 11-goal striker has been carrying a double hernia injury since the start of the season, although that hasn't stopped Sands leading the Gulls scoring charts this term.

Chelmsford City - Spent 2.5 months out while recovering from a double hernia operation, and broken ribs after a bad two footed tackle. Was loaned back to Bury to work on his fitness in 2014/2015 season.

Leinston - 5 gaols in 13 games (until move to Boston) Was signed on a two year contract for them.

I can only assume the reason for his move to Spalding to live is work related, and as such the club and player would terminate his contract by mutual consent.  This does not seem to be the case however, as he the Leiston FC webpage reports a fee being involved.
The strange thing is that it was the player looking for clubs in the local area and got in Touch with Dennis about St Neots.

This could be another shrewd piece of business, albeit with a little luck thrown in - and we all need a bit of that!

Could this be the Geoff Horsfield that we missed out on when asked to pay £15k, and would not stump up the cash?

He certainly backs himself to score, and his disappointment after only 10 mins of football and 2 chances was clear for al to see.
