Managed to get to Cranwell for the second half of the game against Mansfield. Steve said they were under strength due to illness and injuries but I have to say that all the lads gave their all and almost managed a draw after being 2 - 0 down and then 3 - 1 the game ending 3 - 2 to Mansfield. As for the fixture above lets hope the pitch at York Street will be fit so everyone will have chance seeing the lads.

At the risk of upsetting my fellow poster(s), I think we still should have kept a Reserve team and let the lads play in a proper League at the weekend. Proper = Peterborough & District or Anglian Combination - we were 100% right to leave the Lincolnshire League. I'll still support these U-21 fixtures but really can't get passionate about them from a supporter's point of view. They do have some merits though for the club such as it gives fringe players and those wanting match fitness a game.

Farmer: "I've got 100 cows."

Also as Lord Cutler Beckett has pointed out elsewhere, Dennis is probably sussing out some of the opposition players in the Under-21 games, working out who might be available for us on loan or permanently. LCB observed Steve Welsh has probably known about Dayle Southwell for a few years now.

A reserve league wouldn't have as a good quality of opposition for us to scout.

The trouble with being in a league setup is that you need registration so it rules out the odd trialists playing to have a look. The U21 friendly games have been a decent hunting ground for first team talent.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Norwich City provide the opposition for Boston United under-21s at The Jakemans Stadium on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.00pm).
The Canaries will field a mixed under-18s/21s side for the midweek fixture, which will be United's first development match since December 9.
Sam Vince, Michael Hollingsworth and Jamie McGhee are the headline names in the United squad, alongside youngsters Ollie Price and Louis Saebe.
Entrance to the Wilson and Co Vauxhall Stand is available, priced £2 for adults and £1 for concessions, with The Pilgrim Lounge open throughout the evening too.

No problem, it's hardly been advertised by the club until today.

Not there, not home in time. You said that on Saturday regarding being at Guiseley - did I somehow miss your presence in the big crowd?

After the 6th went in, Craig tweeted about the ball going past a keeper called Payne. Seems to have been deleted, since.
