I normally hate it when people say "it could've been 7 or 8", but it really could've been 7 or 8 for Leek last night.

Their goal was a result of our 'keeper blasting the ball into an attackers back, resulting in the ball looping into the net.

After that we had 3 ruled out for offside, 2 clear penalties waved away, and another few against the post and bar in amongst a host of other chances.

It could've been "one of those nights" had we not remained disciplined, but even the most ardent Kidsgrove fan will tell you they barely got a touch.

I'm not sure if the extra rest for Boston will be a factor - I guess home advantage will kind of cancel that one out. But I'd see this very much as a potential banana skin for the Pilgrims coaching team to sort out, who quite rightly have been doing their homework and have been a fixture at Leek games in the last week or so.

They will have seen that Boston will have their work cut out on Saturday, and I can't wait!

In the 'old days ' Boston United  supporters expected them to beat any non-league team in the Cups .
After the upheavals & constraints of the last 7 years or so , I think the opposite is now true .

In the "old days" we lost to a few "pub teams" ted .   I am sure people will come on to remind us of some .   The easy one,s to recall are  Brigg T who best us as YS 1-0 with with their stand-in goalie playing a blinder .
Also Holbeach T beating us 1-0 at YS with the goal being scored by Johny Wells ex- Boston Res .

Was it Avely(think the spelling might be wrong, had a few  brandys.) beat us in the cup when they had about 30 people on the bench, we had the keeper sent off and they stopped Morris bringing the sub keeper on. Think Grayson went in goal.
