Weeknight Results
« on: October 26, 2009, 10:01:33 PM »
Tonight: Buxton 2-2 Burscough

Burscough up from 13th to 8th on 21 points. Buxton don't look like they'll be a concern to us.

Tomorrow:

Durham vs. Kendal
Frickley vs. Ashton
North Ferriby vs. FCUM
Retford vs. Guiseley

Kendal are behind us by 6 points and 4 goal's worth of goal difference, but have three games in hand.

I tried to highlight the teams who should be of most interest to us... But the league really hasn't thinned out much at all. In some cases a disparity of five extra matches played probably doesn't help.

So Kendal could go above us but thats a big ask to win 3 games, we put the points on the board and thats all that really matters.

They've gone off the boil of late anyway. Looks like there's a good chance Frickley could do us a favour vs. Ashton:

It is certainly a fascinating league

it seems that every team that goes top then goes into self destruction and can't hold any form. Let's hope we are different

as we have got less than 2 points a game on average. It's obvious that any run of form by a side will lift them towards the top. It's imperative we say consistant and maintain the advantage.

Even in October it's key we make some headroom. As they say it's now ours to loose.

Looking forward to the trip to stocksbridge

Guiseley will definately be a danger IMO. For me the top 5 will be from:

Us, Guiseley, Nantwich (despite our result against them), Kendal, Lynn, Retford and FCUM (even though they are 17th). A big list and if I was pushed as to who will miss out I'd say Retford and FCUM.

Guiseley may or may not now be two up at Retford. The vidiprinter reported they were but appears to have rescinded that line...

Also:

Durham 0-5 Kendal
Frickley 0-1 Ashton, on the stroke of half time.

Nothing going our way, we'll need to win tomorrow night...

Much more fun if you're off the top at kick off and then go back to the top at full time, it's merely making it more exciting  ;D
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.
