I don't remember SWD (Can I call him SWD? well Man city have SWP so we can have SWD) for being a target man more of a pacey direct player. He may even shoot from distance occasionally.

I can only presume from the above quote we have another Marc 'tap in' Newsham fan!

Yes and without tap in we would be sitting round about mid table.

I entirely agree Dave.  Ian Rush only ever put the ball in the net - was he critised for his workrate??????

I like newsham as a player and he scores goals. So no there's no connection in what I said above.

SWD will not start due to lack of fitness. SWD will shoot from distance FACT, my criticism of shooting from distance was aimed at the current eleven.

Sorry  for the misunderstanding.

Surely a strikers role is to be in the right place at the right time and stick it in the net what more can you ask? And newsham has done this has he not?

As long as he keeps scoring im happy with that, and we should be there or there abouts at the end of the season if that continues.

I might be wrong but i think SWD can also play as a winger which gives us further options............ good signing hopefully!
A moaney clapper!......... best of both worlds

He looks like the type of signing we have been calling for. SnH are full of surprises. Can't wait to see what they are getting me for Xmas.

Some chap called Pete Brooksbank thought that Spencer Weir Daley was a good prospect back in 2005.

Sparks is about right in Newshams workrate being a third of his fellow strikers .
Can remember Andy Kirk having a workrate of 10% of his fellow strikers .
Staurt Douglas had a work rate of 300% more than  his fellow strikers.
Goes to show that maybe the best way to judge a striker is by the number of goals he scores.

Spot on ghm. Remember watching Viv Busby at Norwich and a bloke behind me said "that Busbys a lazy sod" 20 minutes later he had scored a hat trick nuff said.

As a forest season ticket holder i've seen a fair bit of spence. He certainly had potential but seems to have lost his way a fair bit. Had a couple of good loan spells out but never really did it when he signed for notts.

Unfortunately i can't compare him to our current strikers as i still haven't managed to make a bloody game this season!
