"Charismatic" Evans
« on: August 08, 2014, 10:20:46 AM »
I see that the Daily Telegraph describe our former "Leader" as Charismatic! Does he really have a "compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others"? What other words could they have used to describe Steve? Keep it clean (if you can!), folks! 8)
Alan Partridge: "I bet I've got more friends than you've got cows. How many cows have you got?"
Farmer: "I've got 100 cows."
AP: "Well, I've got 104 friends!"

I believe he does.

For all his past misdemeanours and his babblings in the press, he does appear to have the knack of getting the best out of his squad. His managerial style may not be every football fans' cup of tea, but the success he has had in recent years speaks for itself.

Although he brought both good and bad to Boston, in my opinion the aftermath of the Evans tenure brought everyone connected to the Club a sense of reality. And I believe we are now in a better position than when Evans first arrived at the Club - a positive if ever there was one.

He's done his time now, got his criminal record and hopefully he has learnt some valuable lessons like we had to. I quite enjoy seeing his mug all over the TV as he is a character and I like to laugh at him. He's full of cliches and bullshit but if you see through that it's actually quite funny.

His achievements at Crawley and Rotherham were not because if his managerial 'ability' - it was because he outspent pretty much every club on the league. Even with us  his only tactic was spend more than out rivals, but with us it was money we didn't even have.

On the pitch it's not much better. Lots of hoof, lots of diving, play acting and cheating.

It's not easy to say that his achievements have not been down to his managerial ability. Yes, he has had money to spend but then so have loads of clubs. Spurs blew millions last year but that never won them anything. Evans has a winning mentality and has the ability to get the best out of his squad - even if he does have to go through a lot of players to achieve the end result.

Im anti Evans and don't think he should be anywhere near the game but he does have a small credit to his name and that he was one of the best motivators in the game

How many asst managers would have stuck by Evans as long as Raynor ?      I think Evans relies on Raynor for know how ,  would be interesting to see how he coped if they parted company .

It's not just Raynor though, is it? If you looked at his bench in the play off final there was Paul Warne, there was another coach, there was Mark Stein, there was Gee. And that's without mentioning the medical staff (I think Steve Circuit's dad was part of that). Rotherham's management team could probably fill two dugouts, and that's not just down to the size of his waistline.

We have just had the best possible news regarding the new stadium. The new season begins today with a cracking fixture. SO WHY THE HELL HAS THAT CRETIN EVANS TAKEN OVER THIS FORUM?. If the  Boston United team, management and owners, plus the up coming fixtures can't generate enough subjects to discuss then I feel it is hardly worth bothering with this forum, particularly the childish comments of some.
