new keeper?
« on: June 18, 2014, 10:02:38 AM »
I see that Alan Marriott has turned down a new deal on reduced terms at Mansfield. Seems he's starting up as an electrician so maybe he'll be looking for part time footy? Performed very well in League 2 last season and I think still lives near Lincoln.

Would see this as a waste of money as we already have a good keeper and can use youth keeper as cover if king gets injured.

Agree,  Marriot is prone to errors King is a sounder option ,   I,m sure Imps need Marriot more than us .

I don't think its keepers we need worry about we have just one striker for sure   on the strength of taking a penalty against us.

Miele. Try that again, but this time in English.

Drop the 'for sure's' as it makes you sound Dutch. The rest of it is double Dutch at the moment.

Try a bit of punctuation, it it very hard to make any sense of what you've typed.

I don't think much will make sense from him, even with punctuation.

Newsham + Southwell= 2 strikers. Your adding up is as good as your punctuation. Miller hasn't gone yet, and may end up staying. If so that is three.

Plenty of options up front

Miller (looking much more likely now)
Newsham
Southwell
McGhee (played the last few games up front and did ok)
Sanders
Garner (does ok when asked to play up front and knows where the back of the net is)

Midfield is where we need to strengthen so far the team looks a bit like this for me:

King

Mills
Garner
Pidge
Steer

McGhee
???
???
???

Newsham
Miller (fingers crossed)

Subs
Southwell
Marshall
Galinski
GK???
???

So for me aslong as all the above sign up as expected then we just need to sign about 4 midfielders!

Indy hasn't been offered a deal of any kind but i applaud the him and good luck to the lad if he wants to stay and try to earn a deal. Also the possibility of Sam Vince staying is now looking possible as no one has come in for him as of yet and the fact that anyone who does would have to give us some sort of financial payment may put clubs off.

How do you know no-one has come in for Vince? Just because you don't read about something, doesn't mean it isn't happening...

The compensation we'd be given for him at a tribunal would be nominal - it's any sell on percentage that would be key.
