I certainly do not want to put a damper on this, but a little birdie told me that the Chestnuts haven't actually purchased the land yet.

Also, one of the owners wasn't keen on selling.

Any ideas?

You're very well informed (as ever) Gus.  :bunny

No point buying the land without outline planning permission.

At least they have got rid of the red arrows ;D

Nothing unusual about that.  Why go to the expense of buying land if planning permission isn't forthcoming.

However no way would any developer spend close on £500k without a contract on the option to purchase the land at a set price otherwise they would be held to ransom if planning permission was given.

In this case even if one of the owners wasn't keen on selling they won't have any option but to sell as per terms of the contract they would have signed with Chestnut Homes.

So nothing to worry about.
