I'm assuming this is the same Simon Armstrong, as it mentions Port Vale (for whom he signed for from us) and England U18s. Lives in Guiseley of all places!!

Yes, that's the fella! I know I made a mistake in that article as I say he didn't progress into professional football, but he did - albeit very briefly - with Vale, before coming back to us on loan. You kind of get my point. I have this vague memory of being on the bus to Chester in 1996 (after the Morecambe 3-0, boom) and Boston fans passing around a copy of the Sun with a photo of Armstrong in it, perhaps juggling a ball, with a story about how Manchester United had been eyeing him up? Anyone else remember that?

I remember, vaguely, Calendar (or Look North?) doing an interview with him in the build up to the match.
