Miller left disgruntled despite hat-trick heroics at Barrow
« on: March 24, 2014, 11:21:53 AM »
Most strikers would be thrilled to score a hat-trick to rescue a point for his side in a 4-4 draw, but not Ricky Miller.

Ricky Miller says it was a long day and they had to leave at 7am. When they played Workington a few weeks ago, I understand they also travelled on the day - despite BUSA donating £1,000 for an overnight stay. Maybe if the Club had utilised that money for the purpose it was intended then our players may have been fresher and we would have six points instead of one from those two games.

So how was the £1,000 used if not for players' travel?

Was it ringfenced for this purpose and carried forward or returned to BUSA?

I'd change the double "S" for a "C" and "K"! ;)

Might take even longer at Colwyn being midweek. If there was a £1000 chipped in for the very purpose we surely should have used it, one 7.00am start is mad, two 7.00am's on the bounce is sheer lunacy, different if we were mid table, but we're not!

From my understanding the 1000 was offered from a different source........... Maybe wronge
However this was declined so no cash changed hands.

Overnight for 16 players and managment  plus coach for Friday and Saturday would have cost a lot more than a 1000.

Thinking of it the coach would have cost more than a 1000, As you would have to pay for 2 days, plus driver accomadation

Bostonshire,

I have it on good authority that the money did change hands. It may well have cost more than £1k in total but I think it would have covered most of it.

Are you a BUSA member, is it of issue to you being your money?
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Good comment LCB. No ones concern except for BUSA members.
Where is SP. You would think he could make something from this, unless of course he either has not read this yet or accepts it's no ones business except BUSA members and the club.

I think its everyone's business, BUSA member or not.........non members buy Golden Goal tickets, don't they have a right to know what happens to their cash? What about non members who pay the frankly scandalous bus prices, aren't they entitled to know how the money is spent?

BUSA has been a lame duck since it cosied up to Evans and Sotnick and took the token 'seat on the board' which was about as empty a gesture as possibly imaginable........ a supporters club with anything about it would have been leading the protests about what was happening, not beating the drum for the rotten regime.

Gents calm down, whilst I appreciate the need some may have to know what money raised may be spent on, that is not the issue. 20 players (ten rooms) at a Travel lodge somewhere within an hours drive of Workington or Barrow would cost no more than £400.00, especially if booked in advance. With the deal we have with the coach company, they probably would have charged very little extra for the extra day, bar the wages of the driver and possibly on such a journey his assistant. £1000 would have covered it, and if we miss out on the play offs by a point or two, you may be able to look back at these two treks as one of the reasons, especially Workington. Should have definitely stayed overnight

Join an organisation like BUSA?  One that not only backed the last rotten regime, became its apologist,  and even tried to scupper plans to set up a Supporters' Trust (unsuccessfully).  :bunny

Exactly B Grimes, well put.

I don't want to get into a discussion about the morals of BUSA or the Club (leave that to fussbucket Scouse) - from the perspective of a player, four to five hours on a coach before a game is not good preparation - both physically and mentally. If we miss out this season then the five points dropped in this part of the country could be a significant factor.
