Prediction for final positions anyone?
« on: March 05, 2014, 12:13:42 AM »
Before last weekend's games I made a prediction for every game which affects the final league placings and came up with this: -

pts
87 Telford (promoted)

83 N.Ferriby (play-offs)
81 Altrincham (play-offs)
81 Brackley (play-offs)
79 Guiseley (play-offs)

76 BUFC (and miss out on play-offs, but of course I hope I'm wrong)
75 Hednesford
72 Solihull
71 Harrogate

NB: Since these predictions, Brackley have dropped 3 points but would still make the play-offs and I wouldn't put it past them to get through.

Anyone else want to have a go?

Expect many twists and turns

ACF Telford have a good run in i expect them to win it.
North Ferriby but only just several difficult fixtures
Boston United
Brackley
Altrincham  many difficult fixtures against the top sides in the coming weeks
Who cares after that

1 Telford
2 North Feriby
3 Alty
4 Brackley
5 Boston
6 Hednesford
7 Solihull
8 Harrogate
9 Guiseley

Looking at our remaining games we must get three points from Workington this week, Oxford, Gloucester and Stalybriidge at home and Leamington away in April. Picking up a couple of wins from the other games and a point would be a good result against Alty and NFU, should see us through.

5th and a shot and Conf Prem would be a fantastic season, don't really fear anyone in the play offs, lost of decent sides but we can score against anyone and the partnership between Pidge and Garner gets better and better. My only concerns are no Marrs at right back, Steer will get exposed playing on the right and Marshall has had his better games in midfield and lack of a regular experienced 'keeper. Hopefully we can still get Dixon back soon as Greene insists it is still on the cards.

I feel that we finish third. Telford and ferriby wil fight it out for first. Alty wil struggle with the fixture backlog and just dont think hednesford are good enough to remain up there. Guiseley for me wil creep into top 5 aswel.

Telford,
F£rriby and
Alty  all looked well equipped to be up there.
Brackl£y have beaten us 43 time this season so should be there but the rest looked nothing much so I can't see any reason why we can't make the playoffs.

The run in for us does look tough though.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Telford will win it - North Ferriby still have to play us, Alty, Brackley and Harrogate. Telford only have to play Solihull and Harrogate of the top 9.

I use this site - http://www.statto.com/football/teams/boston-united/2013-2014 - to check who still has who to play. Click on the teams in the table to see their results/fixtures against the other sides.
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Thanks P86, this site looks very good.  I also use http://www.soccer24.com/england/conference-north/standings/ - which gives masses of info about most leagues and major cups.

Agree with your comments and prediction, but don't rule out Guiseley yet.

Told you to watch out for Guiseley who have pushed us down to 7th with tonights win.
Since my prediction Brackley have nosedived, but Hednesford and Harrogate have moved above us.

Still a big chance, Win our last home games and a couple on the road. try shut out and get the draw in the others may just see us sneak in there.
A few above us have played a game more than us and althou its nice to have points on the board its still 3 points they cant play for and we can

Our challenge for 5th place comes from Hednesford & Harrogate, the latter being our best chance.
Harrogate have 3 home games against G'boro: Leamington: Barrow (possible 9 points)
and 4 away games against Gloucester: Guiseley: N.Ferriby: Stockport (say 5 points)

We could have to get around 15 points from our last 8 games and pip them on goal difference.

Present form: 6th. Improvement in away form or big slip-up by one of the favourites and we may scrape into the play-offs. However, on my record I couldn't predict Christmas, so what do I know?
