Get in. Keep it going boys.

I really, really want us to beat that team of upstarts this coming Saturday.

Get yourselves down there and bring a friend. This is getting exciting.

Not a great game but vital three points.

I think if Newsham hadn't scored right at the start then Histon would have settled for a nil nil. As it was, they had to come out and chase the game more in the second half - and they didn't make a bad job of it. We had a few opportunities on the counter-attack and probably should have had more goals towards the end. Not quite sure what happened for their penalty but looked a bit harsh. Nicely taken goal from SWD. Piergianni very solid at the back.

Now time to beat Brackley.

Send her to the Tinpot board.. she'll soon reach their level of intelligence. Maybe a week?
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Cracking result last night.

Huge away games at Altrincham, Solihull, Harrogate and Colwyn are going to establish were we end up I reckon.

Still, roll on Brackley this Saturday.  Can't wait for my first game of the season!

On paper Histon were there for the taking, but it didn't really pan out that way. The pitch wasn't as bad as expected, but there was some wind.
The early goal was exactly as Dennis wanted/told Connor to deliver it - from a set piece near the half way line, swinging from right to left where Pidge headed on and Newsh poked home. This should have been the omen for the heavens to open and goals galore to come, but alas this was not to be.
I have been impressed by our new look midfield in recent games, but this game they were completely over-run. We very rarely won any of the 2nd balls from punts upfield and did alot of chasing. The oposition had a long throw specialist, which seemed to be a bit of a surprise to our defense and they prised out a few chances through that. Their 'big man' upfront was prety ineffective, as they never really got the ball to his feet which allowed our centre-backs to deal with it.
SWD's introduction did change the game, and gave Miller more room on the right. This allowed him to create a couple of good opportunities that his selfish streak caused him to shoot, when a pass to SWD would have been a better option.
The difference was when SWD found himslef in space 25 yards out, having made space against the last man it was finished with aplomb into the bottom corner.
Agree that the penalty decision was very soft (like alot of other refereeing decisions), as Garner was leaning on his man.

Overall a solid performance against a youthful Histon side infront of a crowd of 353, and half of those must have been Boston fans.

Also spoke to a guy there who was scouting Pidge and Garner, but was more impressed by the performance of Vince.

I agree, the midfield, didn't really get a grip on the game at any stage, in truth overall it was a pretty poor performance, but that probably makes the three points even more satisfying, and though the forwards have rightly been getting the applause of late the defence took all the honours last night, they were heroic. Under the cosh for long periods of the game, they threw themselves into every header, every tackle and every block. I actually thought it was a pen and thought the worse when it went in, was very relieved when the final whistle came. A superb three points, and really looking forward to Saturday, we owe them one big time.
