Have copied my posting about the subject from the Ricky Miller thread as it is more relevant here.
All this talk on the media About Dennis Greene stating that the Club won't stand in his way if the right offer comes along (if any do) and it suits all parties then he would be able to leave the Club.
It seems to me a little short sighted from DG to even discuss during his Radio Lincs after match interview.
It's as if Boston Utd are inviting Clubs to come for him.
If he were to leave our aspirations for finishing in a play off position (never mind winning the league outright) would be in the balance. I believe that attendances at home matches will increase with each match but if he left that would stop and I ask do those running Boston Utd want promotion or not this season because if Ricky Miller was allowed to leave I would suggest that it would dent our chances of promotion.
(We are playing more attractive football than when shorty and shouty were here)
Furthermore - DG didn't say similar comments after Newsham had scored his 100th goal for Boston United and at the time he was by far the highest goal scorer this season for the Club.
Don,t think anything revealing about comments , if clubs decide they want to sign Ricky they will make up there mind without listening to what Den says on radio .
The player has the main say in a move if a fee is agreed , you cannot force a player to extend a contract therefore if you do not sell at the right time you finish up getting no fee .
Imagine the outburst on here if he goes free at the end of the season to Brackley or N Ferriby !!!!
