Boston under water
« on: December 05, 2013, 09:02:00 PM »
Any truth in the reported flooding, and rumours that the Council planning department blew the sand-bag budget on the Market Square planters?  ???

Well on the positive at least they finally found a useful purpose for the Princess Royal Arena as an evacuation centre.
* Until someone pointed out it wasn't exactly on high ground .
Minutes later I  tuned into Sky News and  the reporter pointed out the evacuation centre was now being evacuated .

So its true and its not even high-tide yet  :o
I'd better tell the wife to get the boat ready...sounds like the Council's Flood Evacuation Plan is going to need a tweak.

We should be ok - our defence is much better than it was last season.

I've just been sent a photo of the town centre and from that I would say the pitch is flooded by now  :'(
Just hope everybody is safe.
Photo doesn't upload on here :(

Just really hope the ground is not badly damaged else will have massive consequences for the club.

Tidal surge is still a possibility apparently, with danger to life according to the Environmental Agency.

May sound a silly question but does anyone know how long a tide stays UP before it goes DOWN.

I live on pilgrim road. About 30 mins ago (11pm) there was still about 6" of water on York street.
I understand it could be as bad/worse at 8am on Friday.
Wish us luck
