Hopefully a tired Brackley
« on: October 29, 2013, 09:45:05 PM »
Barrow and Brackley just going into extra time in the FA cup, this is in our advantage i would think and hope Brackley players will feel it after the long journey plus the extra playing time.

If we can keep a clean sheet we have the ability to test them with our lively attack.  Play like we did on Sat and we can win this.
United we stand..................

If Turley gets too tired on Saturday maybe he'll need a lie down inside his penalty area?

If we play like we did Saturday, if Timms gives it to the full backs and we push people into much more advanced positions, with the ball on the floor, I think we could not only take something from the game, it could even be three points. If we sit back as we did in the FA Cup then we'll get nothing. Lets hope DG sets them the boys loose and we really go for it, should be a cracker

Interestingly, despite us having a good season so far, we are yet to record back to back victories in the League this season.  Lets hope we can overcome that this weekend.

1  -  1 AFTER EXTRA TIME    Brackley scored 6 mins  before the end of ET with a pen and a couple of mins later Barrow had a pen saved .      Poor match according to reports .

so who actually won then? You say it was 1-1 AET!
so who won on penalties?

That is a bit of a question I have... can we put 3,4 or 5 wins in a row together to go from hanging around the edge of the playoffs to well inside and even threatening top spot. There's 7 or 8 good teams in the league but no outstanding one as yet... hopefully we'll press our claim for that in the coming games. The run up to Xmas doesn't look too bad in general

They have a photo with the caption "Latest 1st Team Result - Barrow 0 v 1 Brackley Town" on a picture showing BUFC in action.

Presumably the Barrow action shots are on a film which they haven't yet had developed?

In Brackleys matches up to now, it is uncanny how closely their opponents and results resemble ours. You can obviously read anything into any stats but was surprised to find that like us before Saturday they too haven't beaten any so called top sides, the only times they have played anyone in the top eight they were beaten by Altrincham and drew with Ferriby, possibly suggesting that just maybe they are not as good as there position suggests. Their almost perrenial run into the play off places has been achieved aqainst all the so called lesser lights in the league!
If we can ensure that stat continues at the weekend and as mentioned for the first time get back to back league victories I am sure we will all be very happy, we most certainly dont want to be their first top six scalp do we?
