It wasn't that good, in fact the worse by some miles,
constant frowns and loud moaning replacing the smiles.
The formation was poor and so were the team,
even worse was the hoofing which was bad as we've seen.
The goals we let in were all bad, in fact worse, they were dire,
and we must get our front men to play so much higher.
The defence were real bad and the midfield inept,
and tho the forwards tried hard in check they were kept,
by a strong ferriby team, who loved their long ball,
but we won so few headers in  fact hardly any at all.
Going forward proved hard, as possession was slim,
little to cheer about, so noise and no din.
The changes he made were also hard to work out,
Garner moved forward, what's that all about?
Sanders then joined him but nothing could alter,
the fact we got hammered in truth we got slaughtered.
The post mortems started, 'cause we're moaning old farts,
but lets not lose sight that it's still a good start,
when we looked at the first games which on paper were tough,
seven points later aint bad, it's enough,
But sod this formation, 4-5-1's too restrictive
3-5-2's the way forward it allows us to mix it,
But lets not get too down, there's still plenty to cheer
even if we screw up again Saturday, hell there is always the beer! ;D

Visitors still without a win, for home team came more than a tester,
match between Boston United and Worcester.
Match kicked off, no teams been in final third,
cheering their teams' on both, sets of fans heard.
Marshall saw his header go just wide,
nil-nil nothing divided the sides.
Fantastic volley from Worcester Glover,
hit sweet, just over.
Boston penalty, Newsham from the spot,
keeper saves from poor shot.
Soon after Newsham finds the net,
getting himself out of jail and debt.
Pilgrims lead thrown in bin, when Worcester Nti with easy tap in.
Half-time teams were level,
walk in the park, both teams not playing well at all.

Into the second half,
chances beginning to carve.
After Miller's shot, Worcester then block,
Weir-Daley slots home with 52 minutes on the clock.
Boston let off, hitting woodwork from Walker, N-ti,
this is not what the home fans want to see.
Shots from Newsham, Miller were very near,
game 2-1 Pilgrims still had to fear.
Time added on, Boston hanging on a bit here,
final second struggling to clear.
Final score 2-1 United, attendance 919 on site,
happy for Boston after a hard fought fight.

The clash, the game, Vauxhall Motors and Boston United,
what a game!!, here it is poetry highlighted.
Match got under way at Rivacre Park,
it was Pilgrims playing with a spark.
8 minutes in Vauxhall's Noone in the box on his own,
where were the defenders.
As Noone slots home.
4 minutes later with his second similar goal a bit further out. Goal - Noone,
home supporters cheer and shout..,12mins 2-0 so soon.
Boston have to now climb that hill,
as their fans were all quiet and still.
Noone puts ball in the net,
off side!! Boston under threat.
One minute before half time Weir-Daley for Pilgrims pulls one back,
2-1 half time Boston were still in game, back on track.

Second half Boston started like end of last,
Weir-Daley just over with his blast.
Boston now looked like they could do some harm,
great run by visitors' Miller shot in keeper's arms.
Vauxhall in defence began to stumble,
last 10 minutes Pilgrims make changes, prepared to gamble.
Boston levelled with 89 minutes on the clock,
Newsham with a fantastic volley from edge of box.
Still could been a winner for either side,
late on Pilgrim's Bore hit a stunner just wide.
Final whistle, 2 all, both come away with a point each,
best moment of match Newsham's goal what a peach!!

Boston United v Guiseley,
when teams met, kicked off at three.
Match started both were set,
after 10 minutes, neither were a threat.
Guiseley's Craig Hobson catches his trailing arm,
causing Boston's Garner some harm.
Only yellow, should have pulled the red out,
Boston's sideline were angered as they began to shout.
The Pilgrims had loads of possession,
with the Garner blow, Boston wanted to teach them a lesson.
Guiseley getting through just twice,
keeper Timms, was very precise.
Weir-daley, just before half time his fierce drive was saved.
Half-time nil - nil, goals for Boston supporters carved.

Second half got under way at York Street,
1st half performance, Boston needed to repeat.
Free kick taken by Ross,
Peirgianni, 60 minutes in, headed home from that free kick cross.
1-0 Boston deserved the lead,
with all the pressure Guiseley had to concede.
65 minutes Pilgrim's in for goal number 2,
home side dominated scoring with Newsham right on cue.
Almost 3 but Miller's volley just wide,
as Boston start to rip apart this Guiseley side.
Ross came off with great applause,
played well, with the problems he caused.
90 minutes Miller's shot saved. but Newsham there for rebound,
3-0 as Boston fans cheer around the ground.
Final score Pilgrims with a delightful home win,
as Boston supporters go home with a smile and grin.

Boston United away to Oxford City,
this is how it went,  who was shocked - who was in self-pity.
The Pilgrim's team - same 8 games on the trot,
match got underway. Chances for both teams, there was not a lot.
Both sides had limited shots on goal,
the game felt like it had no sole.
With both keepers saving comfortably from Williams and Miller,
approaching half time this game was far from being a thriller.
Boston coming strong for the second,
nil-nil, a draw looked beckoned.
Chances were few from the host,
Pilgrims' Weir-Daley's volley palmed on to the post.
From the rebound Newsham's effort over-high.
final changes as both teams looked for a win, they did try.
After 90 minutes the game looked like a draw,
what happened next was not in store.
Oxford scoring as Boston stood still,
Winters slamming home in for the kill.
Was this Oxford's first win of sea-son,
Boston looked gutted as the game was all but done.
Until Ross with his free kick,
as his strike deflected going into net between the sticks.
Pilgrims' deserved something from this match,
final whistle, tight game, Boston getting a point on the Oxford patch.

Boston away again a trip to Gloucester,
win needed, league points for a bolster.
Pilgrims drawing last few away games,
more goals needed from star names.
Match started penalty for home side only 5 minutes gone,
keeper Timms fouling Webb, when he timed it wrong.
Slots home from spot, from Tyler-Weir,
very bad start for Boston, start again, minds clear.
Game went on, Boston looked slightly weak,
another gear had to come to reach their peak.
Improved as half moved on with Miller testing keeper Green,
until a wonder goal from Ross, which i am sure will be repeated on our screens.
Equalizer came 11 minutes before half time came,
as Ross celebrated 100th playing for Boston in a game.

Second half 51 minutes had corner taken by Ross,
Piergianni scoring with header from Ross's cross.
Away for first time in match taking the lead,
needed to keep tight and certainly not concede.
57 minutes from Ross corner kick,
this time Garner heading home, same sort of trick.
Slow start in match Boston began to rule,
passing around controlling the ball.
Match progressed, game looked flat which suited away team,
winning the league is a reality not just a dream.
Game finished, Boston win points get all three,
being involved in all goals plus scoring one ROSS was the key.
Pilgrims will move up the table,
with another win, in second half looked very stable

Boston United against Bradford Park Ave-nue,
what a come back!!, more than the Pilgrims could chew.
Attendance for the game - 999,
which team were celebrating with champagne and wine.
Bradford started with attack after attack,
pressure for Boston began to stack.
Home side soon got un-done,
into the net:  1-0 scored by David-son.
Then from nice play, 2-0, Walker comes into score,
Boston are lucky, should be grateful, it could have been four.
Shot from Weir-Daley, keeper spills,
finally game on, after pressure Boston finally get up the field.

Second half Pilgrims were on fire,
were going to push Bradford right to the wire.
56 minutes in, Boston score making it 1-2,
Newsham deflected shot was right on cue.
Almost an equaliser, Ross free kick palmed away,
home side began to have most of the play.
Shocking defending from Boston, tap in Mallory,
1-3 changing the Pilgrims' plans and story.
Penalty! - Miller fouled in the area giving Boston hope,
Newsham slots it to the left, Pilgrims given up, still climbing the slope.
Final minutes home side throwing the kitchen sink,
edge of seats had no time to blink.
Full time: 2-3, players and fans disappointed that Boston lost,
the poor start, shocking defending was the cost.
Played well, nearly great come back,
focus on next game get back on track.

Welcome to the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round,
game played at the Stafford ground.
Home side in a lower league,
want to know more, feeling intrigue?
Match Stafford Rangers verses The Pilgrims,
was it a upset find out who wins.
Game got underway at Marston Road,
sunny day, pitch all mowed.
Stafford had the first shot,
trouble for Timms was not a lot.
18 minutes Milnes put Miller through one on one with keeper,
Miller finishes superbly, problems for home side would come deeper.
Stafford long throws were main threat,
it was chances through, Boston searching bound to get.
Penalty fouled Miller, in the area caused trouble,
Weir-Daley straight down the middle. Pilgrims scoring tally double.
Miller was brilliant, two more chances just wide,
as Stafford fans got frustrated with their side.
Half-time, Boston 2-0 up,
looked good for Pilgrims to progress in this FA Cup.

Second half, away side, piled forward once more,
66 minutes for his second Weir-Daley, 3-0 now the score.
Boston were too strong, different leagues showed,
chances for the Pilgrims flowed.
4th goal for my Man of match Miller,
Staffords' dreams end- it's a killer.
Full time 4-0, attendance 519 which saw,
Boston United go into next round draw.

I remember with fondness some great games in the cup,
where sometimes though shit, we scraped through with much luck.
We know we cant win it but we give it go,
for the kudos, the glory, not to mention the dough.
We saw off with ease Stafford two days ago,
and an another away tie is more than a blow,
but the cups a great leveller and form counts for shit,
be it Brackley or Gresley, we're still there, we're still in it.
If Millers still flying, or if Newsh does his poaching,
victory will come through "who wants it" not coaching,
the heart is all there and our players are decent,
but we still need some extras like Indy, most recent.
The league remains vital, going up's still the dream,
not just for us, nor the chairman, but the boss and the team.
In the meanwhile we're batting our names in the hat,
cant ask for more, we'd all settle for that,
and if in a fortnight we see more of the same,
we'll know regardless of Tuesday we would have played a good game.
Playing away at either, we'd all take a draw,
and win in the replay with another screamer from Bore.
Buy whatever happens in the two weeks ahead,
who would swap three points for this glory instead?
I'm one of the few that would love a great cup run,
the banter, the journeys, the beer and the fun,
and though the draws dodgy, its awkward, its tough
the lads have shown so far their skill is enough,
to move one step nearer real glory real fame,
to a Portsmouth, a Leeds or live a TV game,
Thats why the cup is a dream for us all,
and why we watch Boston and love our football!..................................................................... ;D

Lonegunman gets my vote for club poet. Only did 4 lines, to the point and rhymes. Doesn't give you time to fall asleep. Perhaps sonnets would be better, no more than 14 lines. Having said that, folks have really put some work into their creations.
