WORD OF WARNING about travel.
If you are planning on using our crap and expensive train system to get to Stockport on Saturday read this.
Last Saturday my wifes brother left Chester on a train to get to Newark. Route was going to be Chester-Stockport-Doncaster-Newark. Got to Stockport and was told train to Doncaster was cancelled because the driver was off sick. Train diverted from Stockport to Sheffield then Doncaster-Newark. Arrived later than expected.
Today (Wednesday) left Newark for planned journey to Doncaster-Stockport-Chester. Train driver still sick apparently. Train diverted from Doncaster to Sheffield to Stockport-Chester. Arrived later than planned.
So be warned. If the bloody driver doesn't get better by Saturday you may get to Stockport after the kick off. Perhaps a get well card would be appropriate.  ;D ;D

Trains to Stockport cost £58 return (without railcards) and take 3 hours 30 minutes via Grantham. Donny & Sheffield, so not really an idea journey.
I'm off on the bus for this one- it'll cost around half and take no longer

But have noticed a few trains being cancelled due to driver not being available. Tinpot
