ghm-- we still dont know from those offered at the end of the season who has signed their contracts apart from the first three.  no official announcement from the club on the site, unless I have missed it

I'm sort of pleased that the offers to Stainfied and Ward were non-contract terms only, as I don't think either really justified a contract ahead of some of the other players. 
They would have been squad players anyway I think, so I don't blame them for taking contracts elsewhere. and we should have been looking for other players to be first choice anyway. 
Our need at the back is still the same as it has been since Alan White left - an experienced centre back.
If the other players haven't signed their contracts yet, it sounds as though DG will be looking for replacements, as he said Ward had run out of time.
It's relatively early days yet - I'm sure we'll have plenty of players on trial during pre-season, so you don't want to have your whole squad in place now with no budget left for someone better who comes along in pre-season.

And the plus side of pre season is that greene will get the chance to look at the players play before opting to sign any
