Fergie calls it a day...

Love him or hate him, no one can deny that he's possibly one of the greatest football managers any of us will live to see.

Mourinho or Moyes ???

It'll be Moyes, to be announced on the New York Stock Exchange before opening at 2:30pm our time.

Only a guess  ;)

When you have the funds available like he has and can buy the best players in the world, with the exception of Rooney who has had his day, and have access to numerous scouts (can I say that) and advisers, I think it must be really hard not to be successful. You only have to look at Manchester City since they came into some dosh.

You still have to be a motivator and man manager, just look how City players are always in fighting you rarely hear anything coming from OT like that.... United are a team,City are a group of individuals....

Certainly will get a lot more interesting in the PL, there's now only one manager pretty much immune to the sack, and even Arsene will be wobbling if they don't make the top 4.

Will the Glazers be like Abramovic? hiring and firing the moment they slip up, will take some balls to stick with Moyes.

You can maybe do that over a short period like Blackburn did but Fergie has laid all the right building blocks and made it sustainable. I doubt you will ever see another manager at the highest level last 25 years like he has. On the Man City one let's see if they are still challenging in another 5 years, or will they be another Blackburn?

I think it'll be Moyes. It wouldn't surprise me to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the frame as well though - he's had more or less instant success as a manager in Norway.

I reckon his successor is already sorted.

I can't believe he would walk away without this being cut and dried.
