Hmm.

Didn't see this one coming yet, End of season yes but didn't think it was happening this yet.

Think before we start to worry and spinning the mill in motion until we know who wanted to go its hard to say why.

Many reasons but i think jelly was leaving at the end of this season anyway but just a few reasons.
. Is his injury going to last the remainder of the season.
.As he decided to take full leave as farther can now days.
Both the above would see him sidelined for nearly the rest of the season anyway so it would just make sence to pay him up.

Then the others.
.Are the words from some staff at the club regarding money etc true
.unrest
.player coming in

My money would be on one of the top 2 and i think it could be injury related but im sure we will see.

Anyway all the best to jelly and his family and newborn

I agree,at least it gives DRURY a bit of time,

I think jells as done the decent thing by the club.

AGAIN good luck to him and family.

I expect Gareth discussed his position regarding his injury recovery date,  and a mutual agreement was reached.  Hope it was amicable, as Jelly has been a fine player and a good influence at the club.  I wish him all the best for the future.

How do you know there is any kind of unrest how do you know its nothing more than he's just had a child he's struggling both with ankle and form. Might just be that. As for jones might just want them players to go to Gainsborough. He ows us nothing remember

There was an interesting tweet from Mark Jones too, something along the lines of "Can't see the likes of SWD and Newsh wanting to play for GD next season."

ouch, if true or even para phrasing that coul be worrying

Drury could be the worst signing this club has made over recent years!

...or, conversely, it could be the best signing the Club has ever made over recent years! Only time will tell which one and that time comes when he assembles his team for next season, one free of the obvious present budget restraints and one where he will be solely responsible for the results....then it will be fair and entirely proper to judge him  :)

Budget restraints?

overspent this season.
Even saying that though he his going to have to accept restraints on the budget, Lets not forget when they decide the budget for next season if its done on the balance of gates(or expected gates) the budget will be less than this season as i think our ave is down by about 150ish

Agree! I guess every teams budget will be reduced so it should be no disadvantage.

Not advocating Mr Newton commenting on this forum are you?

Some recent decisions seem a little odd ( from the outside looking in) but all on the playing side are recommended to the board by the manager. Paying up players contracts at this stage of the season, when the alternative ( Mayo) is not fully available, would appear to be a personality issue.

Drury may turn out as BUFC's best manager for years ( ergo, he may not) but with his huge turnover of players, then sooner or later he has to accept responsibility for the teams performances, and not blame it all on Jason Lee

Starting to sound similar to Cameron/Osbourne etc, when every cut, tax rise, job loss etc, is "because the mess the other party left us in"
