I remember doing that one Saturday morning many moons ago, also remember a fan commenting at half time during the match "Wish we had left the bloody snow on the pitch" .. It was a rather drab 0-0 ...

If I say "yes" I could be in trouble with JB! I can remember rolling up one morning to see the fraudster on a machine trying to soften the ground! It was against Nuneaton which was abandoned I think! Nice to see Drury blowing hot air on pitch Saturday morning!
See you Saturday morning MLF?

Get yourself down there with your shovel but don't commit until the freebie situation has been clarified!!

So if you clear the snow and get a ticket that's not really a 'freebie' is it?

Btw I'm not saying those clearing the snow should not get a ticket more pointing out this is not a ticket for nothing!

Regardless I just hope we get a game on.

As the decision is to be made at 0815 in the morning it would indicate that when the referee checked this afternoon the pitch was ok under the snow. As the forecast is for one to two inches of snow turning to sleet and leaving the area overnight it would seem that clearing the pitch should see the game on.

May sound a daft question or there may be a simple answer but, if the forecast predicts heavy showers, is it not possible to cover pitches with plastic sheeting similar to what you see on the fields of Lincolnshire? Raising the centre slightly would allow the water to run freely away and prevent 'pooling'. Am no expert but just a thought  :-\

If the game is on tomorrow it will mean that you won't have had as much snow over there as we've had in Greater Manchester tonight. It started snowing around 4-30pm and its still coming down as I write this. Earlier on kids this evening kids were out on street with their sledges and having snowballs fights. Manchester Airport was closed for a while tonight and the news has been full of warnings not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Needless to say I won't be coming to Boston tomorrow (or later today!!)

All this talk of free tickets winds me up. About 3 years ago my dad and i turned up on boxing day morning to clear the snow at York st,with the only benefit being that we could enjoy football in the afternoon. You shouldn't need to offer free entry, there should be enough people around to clear the pitch because they want to see a game!
