Shocking response from some on here. The team patently isn't good enough for the play-offs. The new manager is trying to do something about it - and getting slagged off for it! Incredible. GIVE HIM A CHANCE FFS.

Ttotally agree, the last three fixtures alone prove that we aren't currently good enough for the play offs, we are simply to inconsitent, if this CH from grantham is to arrive it will be because GD thinks he is good enough and better than what he has seen, and as our manager surely we have to suport that decision that is why he got the job in the first place.with grantham apparently slashing the budget a little while back and after reading their forumn forcing the manager to resign this could be a good signing for us and probably why they have agreed to release him from his contract or are we saying players from leafues below aren't good enough, because its obvious many are, you just have to know who they are, drury appears to

stop moaning lads support whoever arrives if they f*** up then you can perhaps moan at drury surely not before we are already juding smith because he didn't play as well tuesday as he did saturday when everyone was praising him, fickle doesnt e ven come close

Totally agree with you all. There is good players in lower leagues its just finding them. We can't go judging signings before we have given them chance. I think the summer is when we will see a big overhaul of the squad ready for next season.

Can,t argue with that BG.  Lee got slagged for bringing in ex BU players and not for having " contacts ".
On another thread a few days ago I predicted soon as a manager with "contacts " arrive the moaners will be complaining of him bringing in his "cronies "

I get it KON.   Not acceptable to sign "a mate " even if he may improve the team .

Of course in the history of football, locally, nationally and internationally no manager has his mates play in his team!  ???

How parochial some folk are.  :o

Oh Church, Pearson, Davidson and Yates all came from lower leagues and they seemed to cut the mustard in the Blue Square North.. give Drury a chance!

Just pointing out, that just because they are from a lower league doesn't mean to say that they will not perform in this league..

unless your comment was rhetorical i assume the point being made is that there is a lot of real talent lower down the leagues and whilst some fail others particulary like pearson shine, didn't millar come from much lower down the leagues when he came to us before but he scored loads in the time here, isnt Osman at stamford but regardless he is still meant meant to be a really good player, chris washington was it went from a club in the ucl (cant remember which one to newport for five grand a few months ago) nuneaton have just signed stefan moore, and unless we have seen these blokes how can we prejudge what they may or may not be like until they have played a good few games.
having to watch the pennies more now than ever if drury brings in players from lower league its safe to say there wage demends may not be as high as someone coming down the leagues. bring in 3 or 4 of those players will thenpossibly free up some dosh for a couple of marquee signings. we all heard the reports that GD liked to weel and deal and whilst i have to say dont know him from adam i trust CN and more because of it trus GD to do just that, its his bloody job if he gets it wrong he might be sacked as well, so why does it surprise anyone that it looks like thats exactly what hes doing and why oh why do we then moan and slate them before they even arrive, its amazing not to mention hardly welcoming is it?

Drury said that our existing squad would be a given a chance to show what they could do before any other signings were made. Fair enough. One of the defenders in our squad hasn't yet started a match under Drury though, so why isn't that player being given a chance prior to any new signing being made? Especially when the player I'm talking about might just be the type of player that Drury is after - i.e. willing to spill blood for the cause. If anyone still doesn't know who I'm talking about, then here is a big clue ...

Totally agree YSP! Leaving Stainfield then blaming Ward on the radio! Looks like all of Steve Welsh hard work could be gone within a week or so.
