Away at Lowestoft in the next round of the Cup
« on: September 14, 2009, 12:56:24 PM »
Title says it all.

To be played on 26th September.

We have played them in the Cup once before - in 1990/1 and won 7-0. Chris Cook got 4 goals.

THANK GOD FOR THAT!

I'm in Germany that weekend so I was expecting Ossett (Ocid) away or some other doorstep match.

With my chauffeur in Germany this leaves me getting there on the train from Leeds.

It just about looked doable until I spotted the proposed strike action by National Express East Anglia on the 26th.  >:( >:( >:(

I remember that conversation... Funny old world isn't it, we get what we want and then maybe can't get there.

Some of these "regions" must be exceptionally large!

It's a shame we can't potentially do a swap with Bury Town. Potentially we've a situation on our hands where Boston fans have the incovenience of a long trip to the Suffolk coast whilst Bury fans will potentially be working out their route to Sleaford. And if Sleaford don't get through then Bury will facing a trip to Matlock instead. Does anyone really think that North Derbyshire and Suffolk are part of the same region?

Bourne Town travel to Worcester City ... another big region?

26 Trinity are away at Market Drayton Town .

Without being disrespectful, I haven't heard of Tividale, AFC Wulfrunians, Causeway United, Needham Market, Kirkley & Pakefield, Lingfield, Badshot Lea, Brading Town, Hallen, East Preston or VT.

Much more of a potential "banana skin" than Loughborough.Decent support, ambitious, and playing well.Several ex-Kings Lynn players there as well.

When i first saw the FA Cup draw today , i thought , should be a comfortable win but now i have looked at the Lowestoft Website im now thinking , banana skin??
Look to have a decent squad of players and another impressive stat is their home support which puts many teams in this league and above to shame. Their average home gate this season is around the 650 mark.
So, there will be a decent turn out there for the cup tie which will only spur the home team on. United will  have to be at their best to overcome this ambitious team.

Difficult tie that....Lowestoft a good, ambitious side and difficult to beat on their own ground.

Still....at least you're still in it!

I think that this regionally orientated round must have been organised by the FAs draw centre in DELHI. If we,sorry, when we get through to the next round perhaps we could draw somewhere in the country that can reward us with a weekend trip away. Perhaps an opportunity for a prediction league of who we could get next.
