Get behind your team FFS....
« on: November 21, 2012, 08:05:00 AM »
please read the comments Ive posted in the Solihull match thread....
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of abuse and critisicm BUFC get from their so called supporters after a defeat or a draw...its quite frankly astonishing...
I agree we are perhaps going through a tricky spell, but we are a very young and inexperienced team, some of whom are playing for I suspect low money and are still learning their trade...
I say get behind your team and instead of moaning about low attendances doing something positive about it by going to the game yourself or encouraging other people to go aswell.
Rant over....get real folks..

to be honest everyone i speak to who used to go to the occasional game is simply not interested anymore. I had to work on saturday and was willing to give my ticket away for free. Where in recent seasons i would have had people wanting to take it, this saturday nobody was interested at all. The very poor home form this season is not helping this at all and last nights result is just another poor result and points thrown away!

I notice you critisized my post last night so not sure if this is aimed at me. If it is I don't need to justify my support of the side to you, but I have only missed a handful of games home and away in the last 10 seasons. I also have and sometimes still do voluntary work for the club so not sure you are in any position to question.

At games I never critisize and always encourage players (despite most around me doing the opposite). So you may disagree with my view of the game last night that's fine (though I have replied explaining my views more), but don't ever question my support.

Someone told me that football is all about entertainment.

Losing at home is not entertaining.

Do you get it now?!  :-*

People moaned that BUFC was merely a play toy for an few egos to get what they wanted when we were in the league, maybe it was the same for the vast majority of the crowd too.  What's going on on the pitch simply cannot account for what is becoming 1/2 the attendances we were getting at the same stage in the league below against teams of cluggers.

We play some good stuff, we're inconsistent and don't draw many games, there is nearly always goals in the games and most are local lads giving their all rather than has-beens taking a wage.

Yet still they don't get the backing from the town, I could understand if this was March and we were stuck in a rut, but it's November and we're still looking to see where the season will send us.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

That's a very good post my friend. I pretty much agree with all that. JP no problem, end of the day we all want the same thing - a successful Boston United.

Perhaps its just the towns people are fed up of being let down by the club.

Evans gets us promoted and its tarnished with the dodgy contracts.

Des Wood promises the earth and delivers nothing

The Cheat returns and promptly fecks everyone over while filling his pockets and shaming the town

The club just meander in mid table with no real signs of wanting to get out of a mediocre league

And all the while we stay one of the most expensive clubs to support at our level in an area of traditional low wages in a recession.

The town's fell out of love with its football club, the supports at its nadir and frankly if I wasn't so committed I'd have joined the missing 300-500 ages ago. It seems there's precious little given and a lot taken......usually the support-for granted.

Well that should get a couple hundred running back! Try being a little more motivational.

Why?

How can anyone go out there and say a trip to York St is value for money at present? With the exception of the Chester game its been a continuation of last season's mediocrity.

Unless of course you get in for free........
