It may have felt different there but watching that there was a sense of inevitability, Croatia are poor when you take out so many of their main starting 11 (three were missing).

Great achievement to win all the games and certainly bodes well for next summer, let's just hope we keep as many of the best 11 fit and well for the finals as i still think the squad is average at best.  Just keeping my fingers crossed i get some tickets!

Can confirm the above, Croatia were shocking.  Good friendly banter with their fans on the tube back though....going there on Saturday for a short break....missing two more games  >:(

Have you done an away day this period, my understanding is that you need to have been to an away 2 capper to stand any chance of going to South Africa, We were all due to go to Holland for the friendly (the one most used to get their one awayday) but work got in the way.  Having said that I don't think many will be able to afford/want to go to SA and there may well be undersubscribed games.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

No aways in this membership period but they are predicting a much reduced application than normal - still more than we will get seats mind - so a chance of a ticket is much better than at other wc/euro's.

The biggest difference with it being in SA is that much less will go on the off chance or for the atmosphere as getting your venue wrong means a big problem getting to the right one with such vast distances involved.  Germany was great, pitch up in Munich and just drive over to Stuttgart etc. I don't fancy the drive from Cape Town to Jo'burg!

Sad fact is, getting to watch England in any tournament is a big fat expensive pain the arse and, for many, a fruitless endeavor. I'm just extremely gateful that Adam and I got to see England in Germany with a ticket bought at, if memory serves, for a donation to charity at LESS than face-value. Everyone round us at the game had either won theirs in competitions or paid £400 quid!

Unless tickets fall into my lap like last time, I think I'll stick to the pubs back home. Plus those bloody horns in South Africa would drive me to suicide.

That's if the ganglands haven't got you first if The Sun is to be believed.

We were guests of Hyundai.  Or was it Toshiba?

Hyundai. As someone who very rarely sucks the corporate cock, I'll happily let this one go. What a trip that was... although I did fall asleep during the best game of the tournament in that bar in Munich. I blame the exhaustion (and not trying to keep up with your mates in the stein-swigging stakes).
