STEWARDS

I see on the Gainsborough forum there appears to have been an issue with our stewards on Saturday. Anyone know anything?

More likely that our stewards were having an issue with their fans - always two sides to every complaint.

it appeared they took exception to the siren and wanted to take it off the guy but appeared to back off and let him keep it.
(this is what appeared to be happening, dont quote me on it lol)
i believe there was a similar event last season.

they were moaning that they wasn't allowed to keep their bottle tops and that some fans may have been searched before coming in, too right after what happened at the northolme

Simply unscrewing their bottle tops would have sufficed. Not one of them would have figured out how to screw it back on again.

I thought Chips were the deadly weapon of choice in Gainsborough?

Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Well i have to agree that the stewards are over the top at Boston but like i say to there fans rules are on the boards around the outside the ground, You enter or attempt to enter you are entering into a agreement of them terms so i see no issue unless something happened that hasn't come out

Not compared to some of the away grounds we go to, they're not.

The other week at Halifax I pulled into the car park, not realising there was an entrance and an exit and that I'd inadvertently driven into the exit (where were the signs)? Having parked up, a steward then told me that I had to drive off again and use the correct entrance. I did so, only to find myself driving three quarters of the way round the ground and back into the exact same parking spot where I'd started!

Stewards at some clubs really need to learn that football is a service industry. And compared to the jobsworths employed by Halifax (and one or two other places), ours do a good job.

The female steward at Halifax - the rough looking one with the fringe and the pony tail  - she is a right Hitler. You aren't even allowed to talk !

I thought the stewards did an excellent job today with all 16 of them.
