Team v Trinity
« on: November 02, 2012, 09:54:26 PM »
With Smith, Fairclough and SWD out tomorrow we seem to be short on wide/forward options. For me Sanders and KDS aren't up to this level yet other than as impact subs but wouldn't last the course of the match. Not sure which would be the preferable option between playing Jellyman left midfield and Silk left back or playing Silk or Reed with Milnes and Ross in a midfield three allowing Stokes to attack as much as possible and support Newsham and Jones.

Providing Stainsfield and Jones are fit:

                       Haystead

Marshall         Ward      Stainsfield        Jellyman

                           Silk

Stokes         Milnes       Ross         Newsham

                          Jones

Subs:

Drury
Craven
Reed
Dyer-Stewart
Sanders

A pretty weak looking bench but a decent first 11, if either of the 2 mentioned don't make it we'll have serious problems. We really need 2 maybe 3 bodies in as 3 injuries shouldn't be putting us down to bare bones like we are. As all 3 are attacking players (that are out) I'd say strengthening at the back and centre mid is a priority anyway...

What is the nature of Kallum Smith's injury? Does anyone know if he'll be out for the full three games where the others are suspended? As far as I can remember he wasn't substituted last time he played, so is it another training ground strain for the fitness coach to explain?

I'd like to see JL on the bench. He could come on for 20 mins at the end when Jones and the Trinity defence are knackered  :dan

YSP - you can't really blame a fitness coach for any injury that may not be sustained during a game. If it was training ground related, accidents happen - as you well know from your playing days.

Generally I'd agree. It's just that we seem to be the only side that picks up more injuries off the pitch than on it! It just makes me wonder if the players are perhaps being worked too hard sometimes, or perhaps the exercise routines are geared around sports other than football?

The likes of KON should stop to consider that we would maybe have MORE injuries if we did not have a fitness coach !!!
Rumours abound in Nottingham that Freeman has been offered job of fitness coach to
Royal Mails (East Midlands Div ) .  Job discription :  getting all postmen up to a acceptable
fitness and speed .  If this materialises we in Boston will benifit with a slicker postal delivery.
