Ah but today we won! A John Beck team of big lads was always going to be a bit of a test but we thoroughly outplayed them but shoulda scored more. Still its only £4500 for s 1-0, no more for 2-0

Functional football didn't beat us, progress on last year.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Well said, biggest result of the season so far.

Let's hope for a home draw in the next round.

Or away against FCUM/Halifax or Chester etc would do as gate money is split evenly after the FA have taken their 5%

The FA do not take their share until 3rd Round games (except 5% in 1st and 2nd Round replays), and even then, non league clubs still get the 50%.

The £4500 we got for winning will about compensate the club for the 200 missing regulars.......its not a lot in the grand scheme of things.

It's £4500 more than if we'd lost, and them 200 regulars would still have been missing today regardless. It also gives us a chance to keep winning prize money and sharing gates.

As for the performance, Kettering where everything we expected, direct, dirty and playing for set pieces. It was god awful to watch but the right team won in the end. It was the usual though, we played okish first half but where poor second half. got sucked into the long ball game second half and they started creating when first half they did nothing. Was good to see we can grind a result out against this type of team as already said by LCB.

Wrong.

After convo with those who count today. The crowd was up by 250 to what was predicted.

But all of the regulars who did turn up, had to pay. A profitable day :)
