I'm pretty sure this could be made into a chant, its got clapping gaps, echo followey up bits and everything a good terrace anthem should have.

So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Should be played over the tannoy before the game as a tradition and then build it from there.

If Stoke can have Delilah then why not?

Have things become so bad that BUFC need to look to bland power ballads as "good songs". Jesus wept.

How about something with a bit of spirit and joviality? The bridge in "You Can Call Me Al" by Paul Simon surely deserves a shout. I'd be perfect for goal celebrations and chants. You could even incorporate a arm-action thing akin to the "dance" Chris Waddle/Terry Butcher and co did.
The chorus has a very easy an adaptable 5 line verse, too.

Or what about "Fiesta" by The Pogues? again, more joviality, more upbeat chords. And more importantly, an easily chanted/sung melody, perfectly suited to a football terrace.

listen to the chorus & knock a few words off here & there ...

"We're not here to mess around
Boston, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt ya
You know we couldn't live without ya
Boston , you are the only only only"

One of Rolling Stone magazines 500 greatest songs of all time, a little more than a power ballad and something everyone would know.  I'm sure all the big 'team' songs has their doubters at some time, blloody hell imagine suggesting Delilah for a Stoke anthem, it just doesn't fit.

Paul Simon is a good shout though, the der der der der bit would work well in a crowd.
