Where are they now?
« on: July 19, 2012, 01:28:23 PM »
Just trying to update my "Where are they now?" page with the close season signings. Not doing very well so far, so can you help me add to the list below?

Midfielder Asa Hall who had a loan spell with Boston United in 2006 has joined newly promoted Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer from Oxford United.

Defender Matt Hocking has joined Boston Town from Pinchbeck United as joint manager with Ian Dunn.

Midfielder Kevan Hurst who had a loan spell with the Pilgrims in 2004 has joined Southend United after being released by Walsall.

Thirty year old striker Richard Logan who was top scorer for the Pilgrims in their first season in the Football League in 2002/3 has signed a one year deal with Wycombe Wanderers after having five seasons with Exeter City.

Thirty-eight year old midfielder David Noble has joined up with former manager Steve Evans at his new club Rotherham United after being released by Exeter City.

Members of last year's squad who have now left the club include Paul Bastock who has signed up with Worksop Town, Lee Canoville who is now at Spalding United, Danny Sleath who has signed for Nuneaton Borough and Josh Burge who returned to Eastwood Town.

Can't believe David Noble is thirty-eight? Surely not?

Off the top of my head .....

(1) Jamie Clarke (striker), Loughborough Dynamo to Ilkeston FC

(2) James Cullingworth, left Ilkeston, believed touring Australia

(3) Franny Green, Ilkeston to Spalding United. Obviously alongside Canoville who you've already mentioned.

(4) Tony Battersby - not sure this is a player movement, but Battersby played for Grantham at Quorn on Saturday. Lawrie Dudfield and Craig Armstrong both had spells in charge of Quorn last year, but neither are there now.

(5) Ryan Semple - to Corby.

(6) Chris Hall to North Ferriby, as picked up from another thread.

(7) Jamie Cook to Oxford City, but also turning attention to golf - on a separate thread somewhere

(8) Ben Futcher, season long loan, Bury to FC Halifax Town

(9) Julian Joachim has played pre-season games for Boston Town. Leigh Taylor has also joined them as assistant manager.

(10) Danny Davidson had several clubs last year, but ended up at Coalville Town.

(11) Mikel Suarez was playing for Tonbridge Angels last season.

(12) Austin McCann released by Dunfermline and has joined Ayr United. Andy Kirk though is still listed as a current player on Dunfermline's website.

Ricky Miller - Stamford
Micky Stones - Sleaford Town

Ricky Miller scored two goals for Corby Town last night in a pre-season friendly against Harborough Town. I don't think he's signed up for them yet though.

Bring back Ricky Miller! I all seriousness I thought he was a good player with an eye for goal, shame he can never seem to settle at one club...

I think Battersby was at Grantham last season as well (saw tham play at Hucknall)

Craig Armstrong has joined Basford United (East Midlands Counties League), who have also signed Martin Carruthers.

Lee Beevers has joined Mansfield from Walsall.

That is some talent. I've never seen a player even score one goal from a sitting down position before.
