Pre-season friendly at Chelmsford
« on: June 08, 2012, 08:50:20 PM »

Nothing on our site, but take a look at this .....

This match will undoubtedly involve coach hire on account of the distance involved. With money tight, aren't they sides more locally we should be looking to play in pre-season friendlies?

Still, it'll be an opportunity to visit a ground that Boston fans probably haven't been to before. And at least it isn't a Tuesday night!

I would imagine that Chelmsford will pay our expenses.
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

It may cost us a little bit in travel but will be far better prepearation for the players to play a team at our level than playing a local UCL team

Spot on Lee. It is no coincidence that the game is the Saturday before the season starts. The games against local sides will probably be used to give as many players as possible a run out to build match sharpness maybe including a couple of trialists with the final game being used to play hopefully our strongest eleven for almost the full game against a side of similar ability. Well done to Jason Lee for showing again that he is learning from the mistakes of a poor pre season last year and showing such attention to detail which probably wasn't his fault as he didn't have a full pre season last year. It would not surprise me if both sides have all ready agreed to play their strongest eleven in order for both teams to gain a 'real' match feel for the following Saturday. Along with getting all of the players contracts sorted early and a couple of good early signings (only three more needed so can't see any Ben Wilkinson style panic deals) this is shaping up to being a good pre season.

Running scared of local UCL teams more like after losing to Boston Town last year!

No Loomerino! Never organised one because everybody thought there might be a Madonna or Rhianna concert there!
