2 Big Missed Positives from Sat Game.
« on: April 09, 2012, 11:43:09 AM »
Ben and Swd. Swd Didnt look good at all but once Ben came on the 2 players seem to just work so well together, Swd flicks and passes found him everytime and vice versa. 2 Players that need to be played together.

But the big one was James Reed who came on to play in a life less team at 2 nil down and i thought he was superb in the way he played and put himself about. Big marks for this lad to do that

Agree with that.  I've said all along that while the 4-3-3 has been working reasonably well, we don't have any back up for the starting XI.
Sleath, Ross, Milnes in the middle make it work and it's the only way to get them all in the team effectively.  More importantly, Fairclough is a major part of that formation as he is the one with the pace to constantly close down and rattle defenders + he has developed a good understanding with Newsh and SWD.
When we play 4-3-3 without Fairclough, it doesn't work anything like as well (last half hour at Droylsden, most of game on Saturday).
Hope Reed gets another chance in the last few games - let's see what he can do.  And let's hope Canners doesn't feel the need to play himself again - afraid the injuries of recent years have taken their toll and the legs have gone.
If Fairclough and Ross are back today, maybe we can get something at Halifax.
