Rob Scott - the new Mike Newell?
« on: January 21, 2012, 10:29:12 PM »

Rob Scott was sent to the stands today during Grimsby vs Bath City, and had some interesting comments to say about the female official in his post-match interview ...

... FA Officials are no doubt drafting a letter to Blundell Park as we speak.

Thing is those comments on the performance of the officials are not about her gender.  They are about being good enough.  But it will always be reported that way.

On Match of the Day last night the penalty given for Fulham when the initial foul was outside the box should have been clear to the assistant referee nearest to it.  As it was a woman thats all the commentator went on about, her gender, rather than it was a wrong call!

Just looking at Grimsby's form of late, how silly do those supporters berating Shorty and Shouty feel now?

They've a proven track record in the play offs and only a fool would bet against them going up if they finished in the top 5.

As a regular visitor to the Fishy forum many on there until a few weeks ago were making similar remarks about their managers as our managers now receive on the patter.  Shows what us fans know !!!!!
Newell ,  hope the comparison is in touch-line behaviour and not Newells alleged drinking habits. !!!

The sex of the referee shouldent matter. What matters is how well they do a job, in this case refereeing.

There's a lot of men at York Street that seem to know nothing about football!

Amy Fearn is a good referee. She was competent running the line, and has turned into a good ref. :bunny
