IKEA Sales - Eastwood traffic
« on: December 29, 2011, 07:21:13 PM »

Has anyone yet worked out an alternative route to Eastwood that will avoid the nearby IKEA roundabout?

Last time we played there was at the beginning of January 2011, and the game coincided with an IKEA sale which the whole world was trying to get to. It took approximately 45 minutes to drive around 200 yards past the IKEA junction. Alas, we're going there at the same time of year again, and true to form there is another sale on IKEA!

If only we'd been going to Gainsborough!

Abandon the good lady for a ciouple of hours and get to the game.

Why not drive straight to the ground, and ask the good lady to walk to and from Ikea? That'll restrict her to purchases she can carry, and you won't find yourself spending your next wage packet on a three piece suite you don't need.

Just drive through Kimberley, you'll end up at the entrance to IKEA but avoid the traffic. I went that way last season and drove straight past. The traffic did look apocalyptic on the other side of the roundabout!
