Festive Competition
« on: December 24, 2011, 07:10:00 PM »

Rules: Choose a well-known Christmas song and re-write its lyrics, thus turning it into a BUFC-related terrace anthem. Post your entry via this forum, stating the name of the tune that it is to be sung to.

Rules have been kept simple to allow Gainsborough fans to join in.

Closing Date: 3pm, Boxing Day

Prize: The winning entry (or entries) might be sung by the Town End Choir versus Eastwood

I'll set the ball rolling, to the tune of Cliff Richard's "Mistletoe and Wine":

"CONSTANTINE
LEON CONSTANTINE
BOSTON HAVE A NEW NUMBER NINE
A PROVEN GOALSCORER
THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT
WIN LOTS OF GAMES
GET THOSE PLAY-OFFS IN SIGHT."

Now, surely someone else can do better?

:santa  to the tune of Good King Wenceslas  :santa

David Newton is our king, Jason Lee our gaffer,
Up the Blue Square North we go promotion's what we're after,
Ryan Semple's on one wing
Chris Hall's on the other,
Jells and Canners at the back, Austin's giving coo oov err.

There might be a second verse if I can find a rhyme for Tyrone Kirk that doesn't include burke.

Merry Christmas to one and all
