Are We Missing Stones ?

Are we missing Mickey Stones ?  He gave us options up front we don't currently have.

Sometimes you don't realise you miss someone until they are gone.

What was that option?

Being utterly fecking useless at all times?

No, we miss him about as much as we miss The Unibond League.

Love him or hate him (I can see how most people feel), he created chances in the opposition's box.  It would have been nice if he could have taken one of them, and if he'd got the confidence a goal could bring, he might have got a few.  As it is, I think he's missed his chance (pun intended) and may not get another.

Someone like Stones up front could take some of the workload off Jason and create chances for Newsham, who now looks fully fit again, which he clearly wasn't at the start of the season.

We are in the sense that we don't have 2 big men.  Wear them down then bring on a fresh pair of elbows is a proven combination at this level.  DD was crap when he started the game but banged them in as a sub, Suarez was the same.  The first 70 minutes is all about wearing down the back 4.  Stones then Lee worked a treat like that at Harrogate.  Like it or not, in some form we are missing his physicality.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Get him fit, send him to Spalding/Sleaford/Boston Town for a month...
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Nope. Out of his depth at this level, Unibond South (Stamford/Grantham level) is his limit.

If he could regain his confidence, as well as his fitness, he could do the job for us at this level.
Unfortunately, if he was to be given another game at York St, the usual suspects would be on his back.
I don't think he's mentally tough enough to rise above that level of abusive feck-wittery  :dan

Just hope the managers don't give him a chance! It's not fair on Stones to be asked to play at this level!Lincs league is just about his limit I'm afraid to say. I guess he was a cheap option at 50 quid!

KON - you must admit though, some of his better performances came away from home.

Agree the abuse he received was uncalled for, especially at Nuneaton which was a disgrace, what made it worse was he was no worse than any other player on the night.

He was a good player in the reserves because that was his level or maybe UCL at a push.

He tried and did cause mayhem but a bit like a school game when enthusiasm carries you for a couple of games but you then get found which he has done.

Fair play to him for giving his all but he just doesn't have what's required at this level.
