A win is a win, and it wasn't a dreaded draw. Newsh back to his old self from 2 inches...

Thought we played quite well in patches today. They moved the ball a little better than we did and should of scored, what 2,3,4, i lost count on the chances they had. All i can say is well played Bazza and Kev Austin, without them today we'd have been stuffed.

Not the greatest game, and yet another comedy referee.Still,we're in the hat for the next round and just as importantly we're £4000 better off.

Am I right in thinking this is the best cup run we've had for years?

Might just cover the costs for the low gate and I assume they get a % too.

A scrappy win but we are in the draw on Monday. Jelly did play well but what has Bazza to do to get MOM.

Not the greatest game, and yet another comedy referee.

Two observations about today's game and the referee in particular:-

(i) The match kicked off several minutes late.

(ii) The match ended earlier than it should have done. The referee gave a minimum of four minutes added time, but my stop-watch suggested he only played three of them. This is confirmed by entries on United Live:-

Quote
16:06: Off we go again.

16:51: FOUR added minutes.

16:54: FULL-TIME: Boston United 1 Workington 0

Now I was glad to hear the final whistle with the scoreline as it was and with Workington having had a spell of pressure. But I'd imagine Workington fans looking at their watches into stoppage time would have been a bit annoyed.

Referees are only human, will make mistakes and will have bad games. Today's made plenty of strange decisions. But is there any excuse for a referee not being able to tell the time?

Good win, avoided a horror midweek trip.

Anyway we always seem to beat Workington, have we got a better record against any other team?

Poor game, played by two poor teams, controlled by a poor ref, watched by a poor attendance, we scored by our only attempt on goal they didn't, oh and in my opinion Burrows deserves a run in the team ahead of Newsh, holds the ball up better and is physically more stronger than Newsh who tends to get bullied off it, still a wins a win, Grimsby away would be nice please!

After 2 decent performances surprised to see the 2 changes for the match. Not sure it was right choice either, we had much better balance to the team at the end of the game. IMO its better to to try and get a settled side but we seem to change for the sake of it. Agree though about Burrows maybe for Newsh and then leave the team to gel for a few weeks!
