Football Manager 2012
« on: October 25, 2011, 05:08:44 PM »
Anybody got this already, and started as BUFC? (If you haven't, available from the club at £20 - http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/bostonunited/news/football-manager-2012-now-on-s-412424.html)

I started one game as a tester (usually do a season signing players willy-nilly as scouting for a proper game), and got sacked in November, after we dropped down towards the bottom, and lost to Frickley in the FA Trophy. With my reputation set at maximum, I managed to get the vacant Grimsby job  ;D

Started afresh, and now into a promotion chase having hit top spot after 9 games and not gone below 4th since - 22 games now gone, into the New Year. New Year schedules kills the players though playing on 26th, 28th  & 31st December and then 2nd January.

The only players I've kept in the starting XI are Canners, Jelleyman, Wilkinson and Hall.

How's everyone else doing?

Due to lack of quality wingers, I've gone 4-3-1-2

I managed to get the vacant Grimsby job  ;D

Hope you left just at the point you were about to get them promoted.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

you can set steam to let you play offline , its what ive done

From FM FAQ's

Using Offline Mode on a PC.
Please follow the instructions below to configure Offline Mode on your PC:

1. Start Steam online - make sure the ‘Remember my password’ box on the login window is checked.
2. Verify that all game files are completely updated - you can see the update status for a game under the Library section (when the game shows as ‘100% - Ready’ it is ready to be played in Offline Mode).
3. Launch the game you would like to play offline to verify that there are no further updates to download - shut down the game and return to Steam once you have confirmed that the game can be played.
4. Go to Steam > Settings to ensure the ‘Don't save account credentials on this computer’ option is not selected.
5. From the main Steam window, go to the Steam menu and select Go Offline.
6. Click Restart in Offline Mode to restart Steam in Offline Mode.

Promotion achieved via the Play Offs - a penalty shoot out in the Final at YS against Blyth.

First game back in the Blue Square Premier - at home to the Gimps! Won 3-1...

Promotion achieved as champions to BSBP by about 17 points thanks to the goals of Pablo Counago.

Now to rebuild the team in readiness for this seasons assault.  any recommendations for BSBP players?

Also signed Pablo Counago... put the club at risk for his £650 a week wages!

Got sacked in Februrary after a 9 game winless streak.

Managed to get him on 425 a week but with maximum loyalty bonus and goal bonus so it didn't eat into my wages budget too much.

Who did you get in for the conference wez?
