Adam and others no reason for long-winded replys ,   All is needed is to answer these two questions

1  does our team look fitter than the last two seasons ? (my answer  NO.)

2  do we appear to have more injuries this season ?  ( my answer  YES )

If my answers are correct a fitness coach is a waste of time.

It has been said before that the fitness coach is not a paid member of staff. Therefore the guy must have a certain level of expertise and experience which over the course of the season will be useful. It would be unfair to compare the fitness levels to last season with the amount of older players in the squad this year.

Good point Carl ,  too many old players.   Get rid of them and the fitness coach.

Just wondered if Jason could use coach Freeman as a striker next week!

A large proportion of the squad under Scott and Hurst were at Loughborough Uni... They were probably training pretty much full time.

The fitness coach has only one day a week to work with the players , usually only Thursday at training for a couple of hours. Therefore as most of that time is hopefully used for working on areas that we have been failing in, or preparing for the Saturdays opponents the issue of fitness is very limited,It would seem to me that the fitness coach therefore gives the players instructions for them to improve their fitness in their own time, If they are too bone idle to work on this in their own time then it is not the fault of the coach and they should be kicked into touch.

Just wondered! He seems to walk around the pitch then sits on the bench.

I walk down one side of the pitch and get to sit down for the game but I have to pay to do that.

Oxo what does he do on match days?

He does alot more than some people realise e.g.  he helps the players with their nutrition, advises them on the right things to be eating/drinking before game and is also willing to spend his time talking to the players with any questions on their fitness on the bus to away games.

Also, on match days he prepares the players during the warm up and also makes sure the players get a proper warm down after the game - and works separately with those who haven't played to keep them in shape.

IMO his advice and input is alot better than nothing at all and considering he is doing it for FREE it is no bad thing. The players also seem to respect him so I see no issue whatsoever.
