carl windsor
« on: September 26, 2011, 06:31:00 PM »
just returned from a fantastic weekend in blackpool and last night whilst we settled down for drinks in the cocktail lounge we got chatting to two smartly dressed gentlemen

it was quickly established in conversation that one of the gentlemen was a former boston united goalkeeper called craig windsor

we had a brief chat about players gone by before my battle with tiredness got the better of me and i had to retire to my room

just wondered if any of the longer followers of boston united can recall him?

I've just done a statistical analysis of all 107 of Boston United's goalkeepers for my next "A Dip in the Archives" column in the match programmes!

He played in 1969/70 when Malcolm White was first choice keeper. He did OK when called upon, but was never going to replace Malcolm White - who is arguably the best keeper the club has ever had (268 games, 123 clean sheets, 220 goal conceded, most goals conceded in a game 5).
