One Out - Two In at Boston
« on: September 16, 2011, 02:12:46 PM »
Blue Square Bet North club Boston United have parted company with teenage midfielder Harry Deane but have added.... ....two to their first-team squad.Deane, who made five substitute appearances for the Pilgrims in 2010/11, was an unused substitute in United’s first six league games of the current campaign but has been allowed to leave in search of regular first team football. The 19-year-old is set to join Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South outfit Stamford AFC.Defender Nathan Stainfield joins the Pilgrims from close neighbours Boston Town. The 22-year-old signed for the ChromaSport Trophies United Counties League Prmeier Division side in the summer from Lincolnshire Leaguers Swineshead Institute and recently turned down a move to the Poachers` league rivals Holbeach United.Midfielder Richard Jackson, 23, has been signed on Conference forms by the Pilgrims after impressing in the club`s second string this season.

Nathan deserves his chance. Big strong local kid, lets at least let him get the shirt on before we crucify him.

With his experience in the sports nutrition and fitness industry he could be assistant to the 'fitness coach' if it doesn't work out as a player. What do you think KoN?

I'm sure these two recent signings will make the 250 to 300 missing spectators turn up for the game next tuesday night !!!, I think not,   I'm not knocking the players before they have played a game, what I am questioning, Is the twin managers expectation of these said players, It seems they think a player can step up two or three leagues instantly, and perform in a much tougher and rougher league than either of them as played in before,  I'm afraid our twin managers are living in cloud cuckoo land, where as all the talk of ambition gone this season, I cannot see much ambition in signing lower league players, It seems to me that the club is happy to just survive in the BSN.   There aving a Laf.

Should we be surprised any more at such lack luster signings?

Its taking the piss quite frankly if they think signing UCL level lads to go straight into a mid table (at the moment) BSP side will work........let alone bring back the missing hundreds.

How much longer is this farce going to be allowed to continue?

Until we're a UCL side too.......?

Surely its a case of signing them on as not to leave the bench short and to give them a first team experience or two.  They'll probably travel tomorrow as Deane did on many occasion and barely get a kick.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Don' think so not according to Craig, looks like they are just options at the moment.

"Jackson is playing for the reserves - as usual - tomorrow and Stainfield is playing for Spalding United (I understand)."

It would be nice to see some positive reaction for the lad as to get a goal on your debut as a local must be extra special
