hows it going to end up?
« on: August 06, 2011, 10:55:25 PM »
now that the pre-seasons have finished i am going to predict that boston will finish just out side the play-off spots. after a slow start to the season i think we'll pick up during the new year but to late to make the play-offs.

1 nuneaton
------------------
2 halifax
3 altrincham
4 harrogate
5 guiseley
-------------------
6 histon
7 boston

i really hope i'm wrong ;)

yep agree with you Wayne, think mid table is our only realistic chance this season, not wanting to be pessimistic but as has been said on other threads were lacking a bit of quality in defence, could be in for some cracking games this season, a case of can we score more than we let in as we look more than capable going forward, shore up the defence and I might change my opinion to a play off spot, as always though get behind the team no matter how were doing.

It'll start with a few beers and a sing song, It'll end with a few beers and a sing song.  Inbetween some good football will be played, and some bad football.

Noone truely knows what we are in for until at least 10 games in.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

You have no idea how other teams are going to perform, what they have or haven't done to their squads etc. Your assumptions are just that and based mainly on how other teams did last season no doubt and how Boston have fared so far in friendly games.

The management team will be all eyes on automatic promotion and we should all be aiming at nothing less. Positive onwards and upwards.

Would that be Peter Noone from Hermans Hermits fame?

of course they are assumptions, i am not a fortune teller. its just my opinion. why can't we all have opinions on how things will turn out rather than coming up with boring 'your so negative' comments.
my prediction last season was to get to the play-offs, from there anything goes.
this season my expectation is not as high, so my final prediction reflects this.

should we start this tread in 10 games times when its easier to predict, but until then we cannot have an opinion.

How long's a piece a string ?

On a more serious note, we'll piss the league.  :P

Nuneaton have lost a few players and not signed new ones as good. Halifax nobody knows until they play this level if they will be any good or not. Im looking forward to another good season.

I dont think the 3 promoted teams last year (us, Nuneaton and Guiseley) will do as well as last season, but I expect them to be in the top ten.

Halifax and the relegated BSP sides will be up there, have Harrogate been chucking money around?

If Gainsborough had any half-decent manager they would probably walk the league, as it stands, they'll probably finish 15th

I think its in the rules somewhere they HAVE to be mid-table.

i don't think they have the leadership to win anything, despite having a good squad they need a strong manager to spur them into action.
