AT LAST
« on: July 13, 2011, 02:34:11 PM »
:D At last we have a pair of managers prepared to use pre-season matches for what they are suppose to be for,and that is to give the younfsters and old hands a run out and game practice, unlike before when a manager would play the same players that he would use week in week out and then some would burnout.I for one am looking forward to the season opener and I think we have good players up front now.. :D

S&H always tried to give every player the same amount of game time over all the pre-season games, so I don't think this is a unique approach, but I agree that it's important that everyone gets a decent run-out and the trialists get a fair chance.

  • I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request.

What gets my goat is when a trialist is given 15 minutes to run around like a twat to get the gig.  You need at least a full 90 to show whether you can make the grade.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.
