Ex-Player XI
« on: July 10, 2011, 01:22:51 PM »
Naturally as Boston Utd fans the players we know the most about are those who have previosuly played for us. Hence every summer most suggestions for 'new' signings by fans are ex-Pilgrims.

In reality the players that the club has actually signed (Fairclough and Hall) are new to the club, but can we put together a starting eleven of ex-players that have been put forward as potential signings for the club this summer?

Lee Beevers on the bench?  Released by Colchester this summer after injury problems - played defensive midfield role for them last year

Danny Thomas- good on his day but an expensive luxury

The other two- you are having a laugh right?

If Mickey Stones is top goal scorer it'll either be a shocking season for the 1st team or another successful one for the reserves!

Is that a hybrid of Courtney Pitt and Paul Alexander?

All Wingers are, even the best in the world go missing for whole games if the game is passing them by.  I really liked him as a player, his left foot was like a wand when he was on his game.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Sounds as though Danny Thomas is staying at Tamworth so that's one of our old boys not on the market.

One name I haven't seen mentioned is Elding - is he still at Rochdale?  Judging by the article in Four Four Two last month, he wasn't at his fittest when on loan at Stockport last season - will he stay in the league or drop down a division or two?

Moved back to just outside Boston this year but wouldn't expect to see him here
