OT but how about "the traffic is much better through Boston now the alterations are complete"?
It might be if coming into town down the A16 - it has made things a whole lot worse if travelling in from Swineshead etc on the A52.
At the Liquorpond Street roundabout they took a lane away. There are now just two lanes, one for right turns onto the A16, and just one lane to go onto John Adams way. Now, every morning I have a really good view of an empty right lane as hardly any traffic wants to turn right onto the A16, whilst the lane onto JAW is so congested because you have to use that lane regarless as to which lane on JAW you need.
So, the traffic backs up in the right hand lane on JAW because of the right turn leading to the docks, and that means that the lead car queuing at the roundabout can't enter the right hand lane, because there is nowhere to go. Meanwhile the empty left hand of JAW cannot be accessed by those of us that want to use it until that right hand lane has moved along enabling the lead car to move on.
My question is, why isn't the right hand lane at the roundabout suitable for use by both traffic wanting to use the A16, and traffic that wants the right hand lane of JAW?
