Maybe they wont be in the play offs?

Does anyone know what will happen if they finish in the top five? Will sixth place compete in the play-offs? Or will second place get a bye to the final?

(All of the above assuming, of course, that they lose their appeal.)

From this years FA Handbook.

5.3 At the conclusion of each Playing Season, the following procedures will apply:
Step 1 and Step 2
The Clubs finishing in the bottom four places at Step 1 at the end of the Playing Season will
be relegated to a feeder pool and placed in the most geographically appropriate division
at Step 2 for the following Playing Season. They will be replaced by the Clubs finishing in
1st position in each of the divisions at Step 2 together with a further two Clubs which win
a series of play off matches involving those Clubs finishing in a play off position (normally
positions 2 to 5) in each of the divisions at Step 2. Where a Club finishes in a Play Off Position
but does not meet the criteria for participation in play-off matches the Club finishing in the
next eligible position shall take part in the play off matches. The play off matches shall be
played so that the highest placed of the eligible Clubs plays against the lowest placed and
the other two Clubs play each other. The winners of each match will play each other and the
winner of that match will be promoted. If there are only three eligible Clubs then the highest
placed shall receive a bye to a second match where it will play the winner of the other play
off match and the winner of that Final will be promoted. Clubs finishing below position 7
would not be considered.

So it appears that the next eligible down to 7th could make the play-offs.

If Eastwood  don't win their appeal one has to feel gutted for their fans and players but most of the other candidates will be letting out a great sigh of relief - some with renewed hope of making the final play off position.

That's a joke!
No FC91 it's not a joke - it's the bloody FA/Conference and their interpretation of the rules - usually to suit themselves!!!

I can imagine a conversation like this.

Eastwood Chairman :- Is there any way we can play in the play offs?
Conference Official :- Boston Utd may make the play offs too, I have noticed. Do you think you can beat them?
Eastwood Chairman :- Yes
Conference Official :- Approval Granted!, (by the way if Boston Utd beat you its back to the evo-stick, dont worry we'll make a rule up to send you back there!)

On a serious note, after beating Telford should we fear anyone really, Respect yes!, Fear no! Lets hope that if Eastwood make the top 5 that they are allowed to play and if we play them we will beat them fair and square.

It would be a shame for Eastwood to miss out on the playoffs, what is yet to come out is whether Eastwoods board had been set a timescale to achieve the necessary requirements and failed to comply within the time period alloted as at the time they did not expect to make the playoffs and did not wish to undertake expensive work without cause.

Whatever the situation i wish them luck, i expect they will need it.
