Goalkeepers

This season alone I believe we have had 7 different me in goal, please correct me if I am wrong. I was thinking how many goalkeepers have we had since Bazza left the club?

Not sure how many keepers we've had since Bazza, but we've still some way to go before we match the nine goalkeepers used in the 1986-87 season:

If I'm not mistaken we actually used ten goalkeepers in that season. In September of the season we won 5-1 away at Nuneaton with Chris Cook scoring twice, but I believe (from memory) that he also ended the game in goal after Eric McManus had gone off injured. I'd settle for a repeat of a 5-1 win at Nuneaton in a few weeks time!

Didn't Cookie also play in goal for around 80 mins at home to "Bloody Runcorn" once - and kept a clean sheet if i remember correctly??

hardly had a save to make

It was a long time after Big Dave hung his boots up!

It would have been mid - late 80's, we were 2-0 up when he went in goal and we hung on to win 2-0. I'd say it was 86/7 season.

Big Dave went in goal in the last match of the 1970's, a 3-1 home win over Bangor when Gerry Stewart went off injured. He let in a soft goal right at the end but had a good game.

Absolutely right Andy - way after Dave Adamson had packed it all in.  I would think mid-late 80's too.
