"would always prefer another couple of inches". Just what I was thinking.
(someone was going to say it, thought I'd get in first)

Could of had 11 Brick Outhouses against Stalybridge, the more we had the more exposed we'd have been by their pace. We'll see how he goes though won't judge until a few games in...

PAUL Hurst has told Boston United fans not to be deceived by Kevin Austin's advancing years after signing the defender on loan for a month yesterday.

Former Lincoln City centre-back Austin, 38, should play for the Pilgrims in their Blue Square Bet North clash at Workington today (3pm).

And joint-boss Hurst said that, much like United's capture of veteran striker Jason Lee last season, Austin, who has joined from Darlington, would prove to be an athletic addition to the Pilgrims squad.

"He's an experienced player, a very good player, and by all accounts still has a good change of pace," said Hurst, who revealed on-loan full-back Mark Robinson may be fit despite suffering an horrific gash to his ankle at Stalybridge on Tuesday.

Hurst also revealed Austin would be a likely starter.

"I haven't finalised the side with (fellow joint-boss) Rob Scott but I'd suggest he will more than likely play," said Hurst.

"I've spoken around and no one has had a bad word to say about him."

It's a fair comment from PH. I remember when we signed Jason Lee last year, myself and a few others were left eating humble pie after watching his short spell of brilliant performances. This time I'll reserve any judgement until I've actually seen him play again, it's only fair I think.

Same. when he came i had all the "surly he cant do it, he to old" in my mind.Only to be proved so wrong by been shown that when he was on the pitch he was the best player.

Sometimes there just isnt subs for experience
