I was reading somewhere when they first put there plans forward and the side stands could be as much as 28 metres from the pitch

After the debacle with the Wembley pitch needing to be relayed after around half a dozen games and no apparent remedy, how certain is it that the new stadium will be capable of lasting a full English football season?

Also, if athletics meetings and cricket matches are to be played there, will the groundsmen have a hope in hell of getting a pitch ready for August?
